A smart, secure, collaborative and stimulating life on campus

In line with its academic goals, Krea University's 'smart' campus will be an eclectic, design driven space, which will stimulate learning and interaction. Apart from tech enabled classrooms, latest learning tools and research facilities, the campus will provide ample space and infrastructure for sporting, cultural and other leisure activities. Krea University's benchmark learning eco-system will enrich students' academic and non-academic hours.

Krea University's first batch will be part of the IFMR campus at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This 3,00,000 sq.ft. campus is spread across 40 acres of land and houses over 300 students with contemporary educational and recreational infrastructure.

Student Life

Krea University’s 40-acre campus stands about 60 kilometres north of Chennai in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. A world-class campus, replete with modern amenities, it enables faculty and students to co-create a vibrant learning community. The following are the highlights of student life at Krea:

  • Self-curation : Students will get ample opportunities to design their own student life at the campus through student councils, residential councils, student clubs and regular town-hall meetings with faculty and administration.

  • Well-being : Student well-being is at the centre of Krea’s campus design with a range of amenities for sports, performing arts, yoga, meditation, gardening and cooking. There will also be a dedicated medical and wellness centre that looks after students’ physical and mental health requirements.

  • Residences : The residential towers will be equipped with air-conditioned twin-sharing bedrooms, recreational lounges and laundry service. The student residential councils will co-create events and activities outside class hours to deliver an enriching living experience for all students.

  • Peer-learning : Krea’s learning ethos dictates that students learn not only from the faculty members, but also from each other. Hence, classrooms are designed to ensure lively debates and discussions in the classroom. Outside the classroom, multiple shared spaces such as student lounges, study spaces, and cafes enable students to mingle and learn from each other

  • Creative expression : With acclaimed professors of practice, writers/poets/artists/scholars-in-residence, student life will be abuzz with creativity. Spaces such as auditorium, amphitheatre, media lab, makerspace and learning centres allow students to express themselves in myriad ways.

  • Porous boundaries : At Krea, we are breaking the silos between the classroom and the real world. We create porous boundaries between the two by constantly inviting real-world experts and practitioners to deliver events and workshops at our campus. Simultaneously, we enable students to explore field-based and outdoor activities.

  • Digital experience : Krea leverages state-of-the-art technology to ensure students have a seamless campus experience. We also utilize upcoming virtual-reality and e-learning tools for students to keep up with digital learning trends.

  • Sustainability : Krea campus will have state-of-the-art energy, food, water and waste management systems to ensure sustainability of the campus. Solar panels, rain water harvesting, grey-water management, organic farming and abundant green spaces reflect our commitment to the environment.

  • Food : Krea places an emphasis on a balanced and wholesome diet to promote healthy eating. The dining hall will serve a range of multi-regional and multi-cultural cuisine. Students also get a chance to try their hands at organic farming and cooking to form a more intimate relationship with food.

  • Safety and security : Krea University already has a dedicated security chief for the campus. The campus has appropriate access protocols to ensure a completely safe and hassle-free environment for students. Ms. Archana Ramasundaram, IPS, (former DGP and DG - Sashastra Seema Bal) is on Krea’s Board of Management to provide critical inputs on security-related matters.

  • Transportation : Krea will facilitate easy travel and access to Chennai and nearby connectivity hubs via regular shuttle services.
