A symposium on teaching experiences, pedagogical innovation, and classroom stories — organised for and by the faculty of Krea University.
Thursday, 24 July 2025 · 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM IST
Open to all — students, faculty, and external guests
9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Krea University Department of Economics
Seminar Room 201, SIAS Academic Block

Tales from Teaching is Krea University’s first faculty symposium dedicated entirely to the lived experience of teaching. In classrooms, seminars, and studios across our campus, faculty members navigate moments of unexpected insight, productive failure, and genuine connection with students every single day.
This event creates a dedicated space to surface, reflect on, and learn from those experiences — through papers, panel discussions, workshops, and open conversations. It is not a conference about pedagogy theory. It is a gathering of practitioners who teach.
Whether you are a faculty member with a story to tell, an early-career teacher looking for community, or an education researcher tracking what happens inside university classrooms — this symposium is built for you.

Krea University is a liberal arts and sciences university that believes in integrated intelligence — a commitment to connecting disciplines, people, and ideas. The Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL) at Krea was established to help faculty grow as teachers alongside their growth as scholars and researchers.
CTL offers workshops, peer observations, and a growing archive of teaching reflections from across the university. Tales from Teaching is the Centre’s most ambitious undertaking — a symposium that turns the
reflective practice of teaching itself into a shared intellectual event.

Submit a paper, short reflection, or practice note on any experience from your teaching life. We welcome methodological rigour and personal narrative equally.

Stories of moments that diverged
from the lesson plan — and what
happened next. How do teachers
respond to the unexpected?
On the questions that reframed a
teacher’s thinking, exposed a gap in
the curriculum, or became a turning
point in a course.
Navigating cultural, generational, or
disciplinary distance between teacher
and student — and the moments of
bridging that emerge.
When things go wrong in the
classroom — and how those failures
became the most instructive material
available.
