Professor Jayakumari Devika will be in conversation with Dr Joya John, Assistant Professor of Literature, SIAS, Krea University about her work as a feminist scholar, writer, archivist, historian and practitioner of what she refers to as ‘grounded translation’.

About the Speaker:
Professor Jayakumari Devika is a Malayali historian, feminist, social critic and academic. She currently researches and teaches at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. She has written on the intertwined histories of gender, culture, politics and development in her home state, Kerala. She is bilingual and a prolific translator from Malayalam to English, and vice versa.
