The primary objective of the IFMR MBA program is to facilitate students to become successful managers. To achieve this objective, we lay a strong foundation in the management by offering a set of core courses in the areas of Data Science & Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Accounting, & Quantitative Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources, Operations Management, and Strategic Management.

Interwoven Academic Rigour

The IFMR GSB first-year curriculum now includes courses that inter-weave skills across management disciplines and liberal arts. Students learn about the challenges facing an organization in the real world and develop skills to effectively manage them. These interwoven courses are co-taught by faculty members from multiple disciplines, as well as industry experts. Ethics, Communications, Design Thinking, and the Capstone Simulation are offered under the interwoven curriculum.

The 2-month summer internship at the end of first year is an integral part of our programme. The project is done under the supervision of both faculty guide and industry managers. 

It gives the students hands on practical exposure and the valuable experience of working on a project. Building from this, the program offers a wide range of relevant and contemporary electives for the student to specialize in the second year. The grade obtained in the summer project is counted for overall CGPA.

Awards and Honours

The top 5% students in a batch, on the basis of academic performance (CGPA) at the end of second year, will be included in the Dean’s Merit List. Certificate of merit will be awarded at the time of Convocation.
A student who is ranked first on the basis of academic performance [CGPA] at the end of the two-year programme will be awarded this medal
A student who is ranked second on the basis of academic performance [CGPA] at the end of the two-year programme will be awarded this medal
A student who is ranked third on the basis of academic performance [CGPA] at the end of the two-year programme will be awarded this medal
This medal is given to a student for best all-round performance in academics as well as extra-curricular activities. A student has to secure a minimum CGPA of 3.50 and above at the end of second year to be in the consideration list. During the course of study, students are expected to submit their achievements related to extra-curricular activity along with documentary evidence to the PGP Office on a regular basis. This information will be used in determining the winner of this medal
