Kalpana Morparia is an experienced professional in the financial services industry, primarily in India. With a career spanning 46 years, she has held board positions at leading Indian companies and a couple of Fortune 500 companies. Her expertise lies in governance, sustainability, audit, nomination, and compensation committees.
During her tenure at JPMorgan from 2008 to 2021, Kalpana Morparia was the CEO of JPMorgan’s business in India and oversaw Corporate Service Centres in India. She played a pivotal role in formulating strategies, integrating diverse businesses, and expanding the breadth of coverage for key clients. She also led JPMorgan’s India Investor Summit and contributed to the formulation of strategies for ASEAN countries.
Prior to her time at JPMorgan, Kalpana Morparia held various roles at ICICI Bank (a large universal bank in India) from 1975 to 2008. Her contributions at ICICI included strategy formulation, cultivating relationships with investors and the media, brand building, and resolving distressed banking portfolios. She served as a Joint Managing Director and played a vital role in ICICI’s merger with its subsidiary.
Kalpana’s experience as an Independent Director spans several public companies, both global and Indian. She has chaired audit committees and nomination and governance committees, demonstrating her expertise in corporate governance.
