LEAD at Krea University is now a member of the global Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE)

The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is a global network of organisations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets. ANDE members provide critical financial, educational, and business support services to small and growing businesses (SGBs) based on the conviction that SGBs will create jobs, stimulate long-term economic growth, and produce environmental and social benefits. ANDE is part of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan forum for values-based leadership and the exchange of ideas.

Research on SGBs has been a strategic area for LEAD since its inception. Recognising the tremendous economic and social potential of "the missing middle" businesses that are engines of growth in India and other emerging markets, LEAD’s work focuses on unpacking the barriers to small business growth, developing frameworks and testing solutions to build sustainable, growth-oriented businesses. It has extensively focused on rural and urban enterprise growth across enterprise types and models – from individual enterprises to group and cluster-based models. ANDE’s focus to promote entrepreneurship in developing countries strongly resonates with LEAD’s vision and this partnership will provide an opportunity to harness these synergies and spur impactful collaborations. LEAD will also bring invaluable insights to the ANDE India Chapters discussions on metrics and evaluation of entrepreneurial growth in India.
