Neha Mishra, Assistant Professor of Practice at the Centre for Writing and Pedagogy (CWP) at Krea University led an online workshop titled From Chit to Chat(GPT): Ethical Conundrums in the Age of AI for undergraduate students enrolled in the Academic Writing course at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru Campus. Hosted by the Department of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru Campus, the workshop took place on 25 April, 2024.
This workshop explored two questions: while it began with the question Should ChatGPT do your homework?, it ended by answering the question Can ChatGPT do your homework?. It did so by looking at some of the existing policies formulated by leading science and humanities journals on ChatGPT use as well as through a close study of how and why ChatGPT fares poorly at scholarly work.
