About:
Dr Priyesh holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode and a master’s degree from Pondicherry University. Prior to joining Krea University, he taught at IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Amritsar, and O P Jindal Global University. He was the Chair of Research & Library Committee at IIM Amritsar. His teaching interests include Financial Reporting and Analysis, Sustainable Finance, Management Accounting, and doctoral-level courses in Accounting Theory and Empirical Research. His research interests broadly span financial reporting quality, accounting regulation, the intersection of accounting, organisation and society, and accounting and accountability in emerging market and not-for-profit contexts. His ongoing field study examines the role of accounting and accountability in a collective utopian community in Auroville, Pondicherry. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as International Review of Finance, China Accounting and Finance Review, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, and Managerial Finance. He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for international journals and conferences. Priyesh received the Best Paper Award at the International Finance and Accounting Conference (IIM Jammu, 2023) and the Best Doctoral Paper Award at the Pan-IIM Conference (IIM Bangalore, 2018). He also received the NSE-IGIDR Corporate Governance Research Grant in 2017.
