Dr Sureshchandar G S is a Professor of Operations with over two decades of experience spanning academia, research, consulting, and executive education across multiple industries and geographies. Prior to joining the School, he served as Adjunct Professor at the IFMR Graduate School of Business. Earlier, he served as Director – Learning Offerings at the American Society for Quality (ASQ) South Asia.
He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. He is a recipient of the post-doctoral Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation, Germany, one of the world’s most renowned research fellowships in the realms of research.
He is an ASQ Fellow, one of the highest honours conferred by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), in recognition of his contributions to quality management through research, education, and professional practice. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Baldrige Foundation Award for Leadership Excellence in Education from The Foundation for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, USA, recognising his sustained leadership in promoting performance excellence.
Dr Sureshchandar has published extensively in leading international journals and conferences. His research (as First/Sole Author) has attracted several thousand citations reflecting its impact on both academia and industry. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.
He serves on the peer review committee of Quality Press, the publishing division of ASQ, and is an Editorial Review Board Member and reviewer for several international journals. He also serves as an ASQ Master Black Belt Examiner, having been invited by the ASQ Certification Council to evaluate the ASQ Master Black Belt Certification Examination.
He is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Manager of Quality/Organisational Excellence, and Certified Quality Auditor. He has also contributed as an author under the ASQ Influential Voices Program.
