Balaji Damodaran is a technology and business leader with nearly three decades of experience across Banking & Financial Services and Higher Education. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai.

Before joining the university, Balaji held senior leadership positions at L&T Infotech, where he served as Assistant Vice President, and at Cognizant, where he progressed from Associate to Senior Director. He began his career with TCS and went on to build and lead global IT delivery organisations, manage large and complex technology portfolios, and establish strategic client partnerships, with a particular focus on the Banking & Financial Services domain.

His areas of expertise include IT leadership, client relationships, digital transformation, enterprise platforms, program management, organisation building, people leadership, and technology operations. He has led initiatives involving the modernisation of complex technology environments and the alignment of technology strategy with business objectives.

In his current role, Balaji is focused on driving digital transformation in higher education and building resilient, future-ready technology capabilities. His interests include enterprise platforms, cloud, cybersecurity, AI, and the use of technology to integrate people, processes, data, and intelligent automation to create a more connected and effective institution.
