Akash Hattimani is a Data Science and Politics double major at Krea University with a strong interest in public policy and quantitative research. He has gained hands-on experience in research, data analysis, and policy through internships at the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Institute for Youth in Policy, ASSIST Asia, and the Policy, Politics and Governance Foundation. His work has covered firm-level R&D data analysis, agricultural policy research, monitoring and evaluation, and policy brief writing across areas including science and technology, education, and social welfare.
Akash co-founded and led the NITI Politics Club at Krea University, served as a Research Assistant on an agriculture and development project, and is currently working on his capstone thesis examining the relationship between Aadhaar errors and welfare denial across five schemes using logistic regression. He is particularly interested in public policy research, quantitative research, development consulting, and monitoring and evaluation roles in multilateral organisations.
