Overview

Mehak Shaikh is an inquisitive and dedicated learner with a strong interest in education, ecology, and biology. She is particularly interested in the impact of urbanisation and climate change on indigenous communities and fragile ecosystems. She has experience working on conservation and ecological restoration projects, as well as environmental campaigns.

Mehak is passionate about child-centred, hands-on learning and has taught mathematics and science at an alternative school for students from primary to A Level. She designed her classes around practical activities and current research to encourage curiosity and enjoyment of learning. She is interested in opportunities in teaching, ecological field research, and conservation and restoration work, particularly those that recognise the value of indigenous knowledge in environmental work.
