Overview

Suraj Yadav is a final-year BSc (Hons) student in Data Science and Physics at Krea University, with hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and the development of AI-driven tools. He has interned as an AI & ML Intern at TestAing Company, where he worked on image classification models, model optimisation, and explainability techniques. He has also worked as a Data Analyst at MakeIntl and Astytva Community Center Foundation, where he cleaned and analysed large datasets, built dashboards, and translated research findings into actionable insights for real-world programmes. Alongside this, he contributed to a data pipeline project at Farming Buddy and conducted business research during his internship at Triedge Solutions.

Suraj is currently building a personal project, a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)-based AI teaching assistant for physics, working with tools such as FAISS, Sentence Transformers, and large language models. He is seeking opportunities as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or in Machine Learning/AI, where he can apply his skills in Python, data analysis, and machine learning to solve practical business problems.

Internships

Year 1: Seva Mandir

Research Project Intern

8 weeks, 2024

  • Evaluated the impact of solar lift-irrigation systems across 10+ villages in rural Rajasthan through structured field surveys and farmer interviews
  • Analysed datasets on water usage, crop yield, and cost savings; found a 15% average reduction in irrigation costs and a 20% increase in crop yield for participating households
  • Authored a comprehensive impact report adopted by Seva Mandir for donor reporting and future programme scaling

Year 2: Astytva Community Centre Foundation (ACCF)

Data Analyst & Research Fellow

Apr 2025 – Jun 2025, 10 weeks

  • Analysed a 2024 community survey with 835+ respondents using Python (EDA); produced a 20-page report adopted by ACCF for its 2025 programme planning
  • Designed and led a Youth Aspiration Program survey in partnership with the Azim Premji Foundation, covering 2 villages and ∼200 youth participants; insights directly shaped ACCF’s annual programme strategy
  • Applied cross-tabulation, correlation, and frequency analysis to identify key socioeconomic drivers of youth career aspirations
  • Presented findings to senior stakeholders, accelerating programme-design timelines by approximately 4 weeks.

Year 3: TestAing Company

AI & ML Intern

April 2026 – July 2026, 12 weeks

  • Developed and evaluated image classification pipelines using multiple deep learning models, comparing performance across architectures to identify optimal solutions
  • Applied model quantization techniques to reduce model size and improve inference speed without significant loss in accuracy
  • Explored model explainability methods (such as Grad-CAM and SHAP) to interpret and communicate model predictions in a transparent and meaningful way
  • Investigated adversarial attack vectors and potential vulnerabilities in ML models, contributing to a better understanding of model robustness and security

Year 3: Triedge Solutions

Data Research and Social Media Intern

April 2026 – August 2026, 16 weeks

  • Conducted data-driven research on companies by analysing their profiles, digital presence, and social media platforms to gather and organise relevant information
  • Supported social media and research activities by analysing online content and company information, helping generate structured insights for business and communication purposes

Year 3: Astytva Community Centre Foundation (ACCF)

Physics Co-Teacher

April 2026 – June 2026, 10 weeks

  • Redesigned the Class 12 Physics curriculum by replacing rote-learning methods with hands-on, practical approaches that connected theory to real-world phenomena
  • Integrated short, structured projects into the learning pathway, encouraging students to apply concepts independently and develop problem-solving skills
  • Designed and facilitated activity-based lessons incorporating interactive simulations, allowing students to observe and experience physical principles in action rather than simply memorising them
  • Came up with a more engaging and curiosity-driven classroom environment, improving student participation, comprehension, and retention of physics concepts

Research Opportunities

Capstone Project | Jul 2026–Present
RAG-Based Spacetime Physics AI Teaching Assistant

  • Built a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) tutoring system for undergraduate Special and General Relativity
  • Developed a document-processing and semantic-retrieval pipeline using PyPDF, Tesseract OCR, Sentence Transformers, and FAISS
  • Implemented intent classification to support contextual follow-up queries and Socratic tutoring
  • Developed a Streamlit interface with conversation memory, feedback capture, and LLM-based evaluation

Projects and Work

Krea University

Course Tutor — ICT

Feb 2026 – April 2026

  • Delivered weekly tutorials for the ICT course, supporting ∼30 first-year students in building foundational computing and digital-literacy skills
  • Designed supplementary exercises and assessment rubrics in coordination with the course instructor to reinforce key concepts

Krea University

Teaching Assistant — Physics Exploration

Jan 2025 – Apr 2025

  • Facilitated 12+ laboratory sessions for ∼60 first-year students, explaining experimental methodology and error analysis
  • Resolved conceptual doubts during tutorials; end-of-semester peer feedback reflected a measurable improvement in student confidence
  • Assisted with grading lab reports and provided structured written feedback to strengthen scientific communication skills

Yaaskool

Affiliate Teacher

Feb 2024 – Dec 2024

  • Delivered engaging online science lessons to high school students nationwide; developed custom learning resources and assessments that improved assignment completion rates by ∼25%
  • Created 30+ lesson plans and digital worksheets aligned to CBSE curriculum standards using Google Workspace and interactive presentation tools
  • Maintained detailed progress records and provided timely feedback to support diverse learner profiles across multiple regions

JBGVS — Bajaj CSR Project 2021

Data Entry & Management Intern

  • Managed and processed ∼1,000 beneficiary records with 98% accuracy in Microsoft Excel, meeting all deadlines ahead of schedule
  • Trained 3 peers on data-entry protocols and quality-control procedures, contributing to a 15% reduction in team error rates.
