Simranjeet Kaur Dhir is an Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR and leads the Women in Leadership in Economics (WiL) initiative. Simranjeet brings over nine years of multi-sectoral experience across research, strategy and program management in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her work spans gender and women’s economic empowerment, financial inclusion, labour, education, migration and forced displacement, social cohesion and public-sector reform. Across these areas, she has led multi-country research and policy initiatives, built partnerships across institutions, and translated rigorous evidence into strategy and policy engagement.

Prior to joining IEIC, Simranjeet was a Senior Program Manager at the University of Pennsylvania’s PDRI-DevLab, where she led multi-country research and policy portfolios. Previously, she was a Research Manager at Good Business Lab and worked with J-PAL South Asia. She holds an MSc in Economics and Finance from the Barcelona School of Economics.
