The Office of Inclusive Learning Support (ILS) provides support services that are available to all students. Our goal is to ensure that every aspect of campus life and the academic experience is inclusive and accessible to students, faculty members, and staff alike. Inclusivity and advocacy are two integral pillars for us.
Our efforts aim to ensure equal participation and learning experiences for all students, including those with disabilities. Currently ILS supports students with visual impairment, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, psycho-social disabilities, and other neurodivergent conditions.

In alignment with our commitment to facilitating learning support, the Office extends its services to provide academic support for students from marginalised communities and challenging socio-economic backgrounds, helping bridge educational disparities. The Office also advocates on issues of gender, sexuality, etc, and encourages a culture of inclusivity and accessibility on campus.
The Office assesses needs on a case-by-case basis to make recommendations for reasonable accommodations on campus. Additionally, the Office is involved in creating an active space in the University that could be used for advocacy, education, and awareness regarding accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.
At Krea a deep engagement with our interwoven philosophy and approach — teaching, learning, research, and life — prepares students for the challenges the future holds, helping them unpack a complex and intricate tapestry of relationships among humans, machines, and nature in ways that will transform the world.

Our approach is tailored to each individual’s unique needs, and we work closely with our students. This commitment is in line with The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and the University Grants Commission’s Accessibility Guidelines and Standards for Higher Educational Institutions and Universities for Persons with Disabilities.
Currently ILS supports students with visual impairment, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, psycho-social disabilities and other neurodivergent conditions. Accommodations that are provided to students registered with ILS include:
A separate space, extra time and a scribe are available resources for students with disabilities.

ILS actively promotes awareness and understanding of gender diversity. To create an inclusive and safe environment, we have implemented several initiatives, including establishing all-gender washrooms, providing transgender students with the option to select hostel accommodations aligned with their gender identity and expression and recruiting queer-affirmative counsellors to offer tailored mental health support.
We are committed to fostering an environment of respect and understanding through regular sensitisation sessions for students and staff.
In 2024, Krea University was awarded for ‘Academic Inclusion’ in the India Education Equality Index (IEEI). The University was acknowledged for an inclusive curriculum and a strong support system that values diversity, ensuring LGBT+ students feel recognised and supported in their academic journey
IEEI empowers colleges and universities to self-assess and monitor their progress in creating safe, respectful, and inclusive environments for all students, irrespective of their sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or sex characteristics (SOGIESC).
There are trained volunteers dedicated to raising awareness about the University’s Prevention of Sexual Harassment policy and understanding issues through the lens of intersecting identities, including gender, caste, class, and disability. The team organises exhibitions, workshops, and regular campaigns on campus safety, often in collaboration with experts.
The volunteers are trained to assist both complainants and respondents by helping them understand the processes and navigate the procedures associated with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
The University is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for students from diverse and historically marginalised backgrounds, including those related to caste, class, disability, religion, gender, and linguistic background.
In alignment with this goal, the University offers a strong financial aid programme, a holistic admissions process, and dedicated support systems to help students from marginalised groups thrive academically and socially. ILS also organises events that foster awareness, dialogue, and empathy across differences.
We are continually working to ensure that every student feels seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey on campus.
ILS is deeply committed to respecting the privacy and autonomy of every student. Any information shared regarding a student’s gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation is treated with the utmost confidentiality. This information will not be disclosed to any other university office, faculty, staff, parent, or guardian without the student’s clear and explicit consent.

Thank you very much for your personal support and the support from the office of inclusive learning at Krea.
I know my daughter would not be where she is today without you and Krea standing behind her. I know the path ahead is unclear but at least one step of degree requirements is complete. You were instrumental in being an advocate for my daughter with her professors. ADHD is still very new in India, with little support and even less understanding especially as it applies to academic settings. Your suggestions for counselors and a psychiatrist in Chennai was also very helpful. We as parents were grateful that you saw our daughter as a person and not just a duty to your job. Your care eased her path and ours at a very difficult time for our entire family.
Ms Amanjit and the ILS team have supported my daughter and I time and time again during my daughter's undergraduation.
Their guidance and drive to ensure my daughter completed her studies were extremely instrumental in helping her throughout her time at Krea. ILS is a great team so much so that even my hard days didn’t feel hard. Ms Amanjit has always been a call or text away and has been ready to help. Saying thank you is not enough. It is truly commendable how much you have supported us and created a second family for my daughter at Krea.
ILS, in my opinion, is the best thing that Krea has and gives
Krea a competitive edge. The end-to-end customized support provided by ILS with the only aim to enrich and support students' journeys at Krea is what helped me complete my undergraduate studies. The non-judgemental and safe space created by Ms Amanjit and her colleagues enabled me to celebrate both my highs and especially lows since they helped me fight against my lows and come out stronger. ILS is available at all hours of the day, which is extremely helpful in case of emergencies. They help breakdown and solve all problems a student can face, whether it be academic or personal. They understand a student's situation and coordinate with all necessary departments and professors to help the student fix the situation. They also provide free tutoring for every course, which is extremely helpful for difficult courses. I could go on and on about ILS but I'll conclude by addressing parents by saying that if your child has any association with ILS you can be rest assured that your child will find a 2nd family in ILS.
The institution has held panel conversations, discussions, and a symposium involving faculty and students to call attention to events and policies affecting the LGBTQIA+ community, allyship, accessibility and inclusion respectively. The institution has also been a space for holding events for the expression of fluid genders and sexualities, both organised at an institution level as well as independently student-led. The student-led pride forum has participated in petitions, and also organised events around LGBTQIA+ history and celebration, often in collaboration with faculty and administrative bodies to which contact is made with ease and comfort. As important as the organisation of such events and discussions is by the institution, equally important is the fact that members of administrative bodies like the Office of Student Life (OSL) and ILS have been a safe space for students to immediately approach in case there are situations concerning these events like in cases of queerphobia expressed by students during or after the events. There is a comfort level students have with faculty and admin members of the institution that demonstrates inclusivity not only in ideating, organising, and executing multiple events around LGBTQIA+ rights, advocacy, and inclusion but also in addressing concerns and issues of safety and accountability beyond these initiatives.
Before joining Krea, I was part of a strong corporate culture,
in which individuals who belong to a different spectrum of sexual orientation, were greatly celebrated, with pride nonetheless. When I joined Krea, I was not sure of Krea’s stand on the same. In the initial days, I would often wonder whether it would be appropriate to talk about events and policies affecting the LGBTQIA+ community, allyship, and accessibility and inclusion respectively. But within a week, a new world opened up for me. I knew before joining Krea that it held a safe space for individuals who believe in gender fluidity and identified with divergent sexual orientation. I came to know that, not only was one accepted whole-heartedly on campus, the campus held its own independent, student-led bodies, supporting and organizing events around LGBTQIA+. Departments such as OSL and ILS have a long history of standing with the student bodies and creating safe space for students and faculties who belong to the sexually divergent spectrum of the society. My peers and the students make me very comfortable under my own skin, to accept myself as I am. I use my closet only to store my clothes now, thanks to Krea.
I am incredibly grateful for the support I received from ILS during a difficult period in my life.
When I was struggling with mental health issues, they not only helped me navigate the process of explaining my situation to my parents but also provided me with tutors for all the subjects I needed assistance with. Their dedication didn't stop there; they stayed in constant touch to ensure I had all the support I needed. Thanks to ILS, I was able to overcome my challenges with ease.
As a student with academic struggles related to timely submissions and writing blocks, ILS is truly an amazing department in our university that helps students like me overcome their course-related challenges and fears.
ILS has helped me by making learning plans specifically catering to my needs and difficulties. With such accommodating learning plans, I have been able to follow them and have a great work-life balance that prevented terrible academic burnouts. Having an accountability partner from ILS also tremendously improved the quality of my academic life by just supervising me and helping me overcome my anxiety related to submissions. Overall, ILS is a great network of people who represent students concerning their academic-related needs and is a fantastic support system that encourages one to push through your boundaries. I have truly benefited from the support provided by ILS and would encourage others to reach out to them with any struggles they have at Krea.
We confronted an unpredictable scenario in the very beginning of the admission process with regard to the mental health of our daughter.
Although we had not known each other but team at ILS specially Ms Amanjit and Ms Aparna trusted us and helped us in every possible manner and provided much needed support which eventually helped her to settle comfortably in the new environment. The atmosphere at KREA is very friendly and supportive , thanks to ILS ,their values and commitment which help foster self confidence in students. The constant support and guidance offered by ILS has been instrumental in well being and motivation of our daughter.
