Welcome to the Krea SIAS Class of 2024!
We are thrilled to present your Orientation week – Summer of ’24 (inspired by the Bryan Adams song, “Summer of ’69”).
In this very special week, we want you to have experiences you’ll cherish forever – and we plan to give you just that. This week will be filled with wholesome, interactive and refreshing experiences – just as if you are being introduced to new and captivating music everyday. Join us on this journey inspired by music through the decades for a fun filled introduction to Krea!
P.S. The titles of the days, events, and activities of your Orientation Week are inspired by titles of popular English songs from the 1970s to the 2010s. However, you don’t need to worry if you haven’t listened to these songs! All that matters is that you are present for the events and we assure you, you will have an amazing time. Do you feel pressured when you think of academics? To show you how things at Krea are different, in this session, you will be introduced to the rigorous and engaging nature of academics at SIAS and will get to learn about your courses for the first year.

Count on Me: Wellness Session 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Representatives from SCARF and YourDost will speak to you about mental health and wellness measures at Krea, along with Peer Support Volunteers from Embrace- the Peer Support Program at SIAS with trained student volunteers. At Krea, you can always count on people to support you when you need it.

This student-led session will be a tutorial on how to use Canvas, the Learning Management System (LMS) used by Krea for all academic work. Trust us, without Canvas, we’d all be lost.

Over the course of your orientation week, you would have prepared performances within your buddy groups. These performances will be compiled and screened live for you and all your batchmates to watch, and this screening along with performances by our special guests will bring this week to a close with the time of our lives!
