Educational Qualification:  Chartered Accountant (CA) with at least 5 years of relevant experience

Reporting to:  CFO

Position: Full-time

Salary: As per Institution standard

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  1. Financial Accounting, Closure & Reporting
  • Absolute ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual financial closure
  • Preparation, review and validation of Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow Statements
  • Leading coordination with statutory, internal and tax auditors.
  1. Taxation & Compliance
  • Single-point accountability for Direct Taxes (Income Tax, TDS, assessments, notices).
  • End-to-end ownership of GST compliance, returns, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Liaison with tax authorities, auditors, consultants
  • Ensuring timely statutory filings and compliance calendar.
  1. Budgeting, Costing & MIS
  • Leading institutional budgeting and forecasting exercises.
  • Budget vs actual variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Development of management MIS and dashboards for decision-making.
  1. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
  • Cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Oversight of banking operations and fund utilization within delegation.
  • Monitoring receivables, payables, and working capital efficiency.
  1. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
  • Strengthening internal controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
  • Risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Driving ERP / SAP enhancements and financial process automation.
  • Implementation of best financial practices
  1. Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Leading, mentoring, and performance management of finance teams.
  • Acting as primary finance interface with Operations, HR, Academics, IT, and Procurement.
  • Performance monitoring and capability building
  1. Strategic & Management Support
  • Financial evaluation of capex, expansion, and strategic initiatives.
  • Preparation and review of Board, Audit Committee, and Management presentations.

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory compliances, and regulatory requirements applicable to universities and not-for-profit educational institutions, including UGC norms, AOP / Trust / Society regulations, and allied statutory frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP / SAP and Advanced Excel.
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Preferred working knowledge of Power BI / Tableau or similar data visualization tools.

  • High ownership mindset with ability to work independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Sound judgement, integrity, and risk awareness.
