Krea University, a young private liberal arts institution located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh—just outside Chennai, Tamil Nadu—is known for its innovative Interwoven Learning approach. Its mission is to prepare today’s young minds for an unpredictable future.

About the Programme and the role:
At Krea University, we recognise the urgent need to strengthen mental health care in India by training the next generation of mental health professionals through rigorous theoretical grounding supported by supervised clinical and research experience.
In this exciting period of growth, Krea is seeking to appoint faculty at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in Clinical Psychology.
We invite applications from candidates who hold a PhD in a relevant area from a reputable university, demonstrate a passion for teaching, maintain a strong research record evidenced through published or accepted journal articles, books, book chapters, or conference proceedings, and are committed to contributing to institutional development and undertaking consultancy work.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Teaching
- Develop course content, delivery methods, and assessment strategies.
- Continuously review and update content to ensure relevance and effective student learning.
- Adopt interwoven, participatory, and interactive teaching approaches.
- Set and mark assessments in a timely and effective manner and provide constructive feedback.
- Guide and mentor students in their academic and research-related work.
Research
- Engage in high-quality, cutting-edge research.
- Collaborate with Krea colleagues, other institutions, funding agencies, and industry partners to advance research goals.
- Contribute through high‐quality publications and foster a research-oriented culture among students.
- Organize and participate in conferences or engage in external professional practice.
- Undertake research projects and/or consultancy assignments with external organizations.
- Translate research findings into practical or clinical solutions, where relevant.
Institutional Service
- Participate in departmental committees and support administrative responsibilities.
- Contribute to student recruitment and placement activities.
- Design, initiate, and manage new academic or enterprise-related processes.
- Supervise students involved in business creation, technology transfer, or knowledge transfer projects.
- Help build an ecosystem of knowledge that links academic concepts with real-world challenges and environments.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- PhD in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology with an excellent academic record.
- A minimum of 3 yrs of teaching/clinical experience.
- RCI registration preferred.
- Formal training with supervised clinical experience at the MPhil or PhD level.
- Undergraduate & Post graduate teaching and mentoring experience and should be passionate about the same.
- Developing a research agenda in clinical psychology or related areas, with the capacity to contribute to the discipline’s growth at Krea.
- Strong commitment to institution building.
- Cultural comprehension of the diverse populations in the Indian mental health context.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- For Teaching route: Demonstrated undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience, mentoring and research supervision, with a research publication record.
- For Practice route: Post-university clinical experience in hospitals, clinics, or NGOs, with strong practice-based expertise and professional networks.
Work Location:
The role will be based at Krea University’s Sri city Campus.
