Lakshmi Scholarship Programme at Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge

About Lakshmi Scholarship Programme

The Lakshmi Scholarship Programme, which will take effect from September 2025, has been generously supported by Krea University’s Chancellor, Mr Lakshmi Narayanan. It will enable Krea students to pursue their postgraduate studies.

This distinguished scholarship will enable one student annually to undertake their Masters at Cambridge with full scholarship that will cover tuition fees, living expenses, one return economy flight, health care, and visa costs.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have an offer to study at Cambridge in hand.

Application Process

  • Students interested in the scholarship should follow the instructions here to research their chosen course and prepare their application.
  • Postgraduate applications at Cambridge are submitted to the relevant Department, not the College. Applicants must comply with their Department’s application process and deadlines.
  • Information about the entrance requirements for various Master’s courses is available on this website. International equivalents for these requirements can be accessed here (select ‘India’ in the dropdown menu).
  • When applying, you can select up to two preferred colleges for membership if you receive an offer of study from the Department. To be eligible for the Lakshmi Scholarship, you must select Lucy Cavendish as your first-choice preference college. Applications should ideally be submitted by the end of January 2025 to ensure consideration by both the Department and the College in time for the scholarship.
  • If you have questions about applying for your course, please contact the relevant Department contact, as listed on the course website (search here: https://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses).
  • Once you have obtained an offer of placement at Cambridge, if you have any questions about Lucy Cavendish College or the Lakshmi Scholarship Programme, please contact the Postgraduate Admissions Officer at [email protected]

This academic year, Krea aims to accommodate a larger number of students as part of the merit scholarship. Key details include:

  • Assessment will include applicant’s overall merit which would comprise factors like academic excellence, any significant extra-curricular achievements, performance in the Krea Admissions process, and more.
  • The scholarship will be applicable for the entire duration of the course, subject to the student maintaining a certain level of academic excellence.
