Re-imagining accessible education: Scholarships at IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB), Krea University

Krea’s approach to reimagining higher education ensures equitable access to students from across society. With diversity and inclusivity well embedded in Krea’s ethos, there are various opportunities for an applicant to fund their academic journey in Krea be it multiple education loans or 100% scholarship. Krea University has collaborated with several notable banks and financial institutions to enable students to explore education loan options.

At Krea, scholarships are provided to students from disadvantaged backgrounds for their 3-year undergraduate program, with the aim of empowering them to focus on learning while leveraging the equal opportunity platform provided. Candidates can also avail a 100% loan with their SAT scores through the India Scholars Programme offered by Krea.

IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB) focuses on providing merit scholarships to the top performers in the class at the end of the first and second year of study as well as merit-cum-means scholarships. In 2020 alone, 19 students received scholarships at GSB.

The institution is committed to need-aware financial assistance to ensure that all deserving candidates have an opportunity to pursue their aspirations at IFMR GSB. A select number of scholarships based on merit and merit-cum-means are on offer to the students, which include three full scholarships up to 100%. Take a look at the three main scholarships offered by Krea University:-

  • Full-tuition fee waiver scholarship

To help outstanding students overcome financial obstacles in their pursuit of quality education, IFMR GSB will offer full tuition fee waiver scholarships to three meritorious students. Applicants will be evaluated for the award of these scholarships on the basis of their academic record, scores on competitive exams, and performance on admissions criteria such as written tests and interviews.

  • Merit-cum-means scholarship

IFMR GSB extends scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. The objective of the scholarship policy is to ensure that a meritorious student is not deprived of education for financial reasons. This process is intended for those students who have a pressing need for financial assistance.

  • Merit scholarships

Based on the CGPA at the end of the second year at IFMR GSB, merit scholarships are awarded. The first rank holder will avail a scholarship of INR 2 Lakhs and the next three rank holders will avail a scholarship of INR 1 Lakh each. However, if more than one student has the same CGPA, the scholarship amount will be shared among those students equally.

External scholarships:

Students of IFMR GSB stand to gain from a number of excellent external scholarship opportunities to help secure their future, whatever be their circumstances. In 2020, 4 students of IFMR GSB secured the prestigious CFA Institute Scholarship. In addition to this, as a result of Krea’s excellent partnership, final year students of the MBA programme competed for a scholarship offered by Krea to pursue an online Fintech program at the NYU Stern School of Business.
