About the speaker

Dr Chudamani Basnet is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the South Asian University in New Delhi. He has taught courses in social stratification, qualitative research methods, social statistics, and civil society in South Asia. His research has been published in the fields of caste, ethnicity, the labour market, social movements, and civil society. His work has appeared in Studies in Nepali History and Society, South Asia Research, and SAMAJ. He currently serves on the editorial committees of Samaj Adhyayan (a Nepali-language journal) and South Asia Research.
