About the session An innovator and technology strategist takes us through the many uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the fear behind this ubiquitous technology, and what the future holds. This session will also include an introduction to various patterns of AI-infusion in applications across industries. She will discuss the strategies required to adapt and adopt AI, thus unfolding the story of building cognitive AI systems around us. AI is for all and not just for data scientists so we will discuss how we all can adapt and adopt AI. About Shalini Kapoor A prolific innovator and technology strategist with 23 years of work experience, Shalini Kapoor is the first Indian woman Fellow at IBM India. An engineer by profession, Shalini is also the director of Watson IoT and IBM cognitive applications. Her expertise lies in developing product strategies to drive business imperatives, leading software product development and building high performing global teams. With the powerful blend of technology vision and her business acumen, Shalini has architectured complex solution development across industries. Widely known for incubating and innovating next-gen solutions catering to her clients’ requirements, Shalini is also an Advisor to Nasscom IoT CoE and CII IoT Work group, and a part of the Program Advisory Group at IIIT Sri City. Using her technological innovations and expertise, she continues to create significant business impact while also holding 12 patents and 4 IEEE papers. Shalini is the First woman IBM Fellow in India, First woman IBM Distinguished Engineer in India, winner of Emerging Women Achiever’s award from CII in 2011, and Zinnov Technical Role Model award for 2012, recipient of Woman in Technology award from eMERG India in 2015, and nominee for Technical Leader of the Year 2020 – Economic Times Prime. |
