IUPUI – Krea partnership: Deep-diving into Health Informatics & Bioinformatics
The School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indiana) is one of Indiana, USA’s premier, high-ranked urban public research universities and Computer Science institutes, known for its numerous educational opportunities and innovative information system designs. As part of the ongoing partnership between IUPUI and Krea University, students of SIAS participated in an information session led by the following senior faculty members at IUPUI: Mathew Palakal, Senior Executive Associate Dean and Professor of Informatics; Josette Jones, Director of Health Informatics and Associate Professor; Saptarshi Purkayastha, Director of Undergraduate Education and Research – Department of BioHealth Informatics and Assistant Professor of Data Science, Health Informatics; and Sarath Chandra Janga, Associate Professor of Bioinformatics, Data Science, Interim Chair – Department of BioHealth Informatics, and Interim Program Director of Bioinformatics and Biomedical Informatics Program. The faculty members shared salient features of the two disciplines – Health Informatics and Bioinformatics, its applications in the real world, teaching of the subject at IUPUI and the many benefits of partnering with Krea.
