Senior representatives from Krea research centres assembled for a virtual panel discussion, attended by prospective undergraduate students and their families. The panel highlighted the path-breaking research work and opportunities for Krea students to engage in them through projects and internships. Moderated by Kala Anand (Director – Communications, Partnerships & Career Services at Krea University), the panel discussion featured Preethi Rao from LEAD at Krea University, Deepanshu Khandelwal from Catalyst Atal Incubation Center (AIC), Soumya Kapoor from IWWAGE, and Vasudha Katju from Centre for Writing & Pedagogy (CWP).
An international development economist, a renowned academic, a seasoned educator, and higher education administrator — Dr Sunder Ramaswamy (Vice-Chancellor of Krea University) interacted with students, counsellors and parents of students, sharing his expert insights on what it takes to think and become an Economist in today’s world. Dr Sunder shared in detail about all the career possibilities that come with pursuing the subject, drawing from his rich career experience, whilst elaborating on the right tools that help make one an exceptional Economist.
The School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indiana) is one of Indiana, USA’s premier, high-ranked urban public research universities and Computer Science institutes, known for its numerous educational opportunities and innovative information system designs. As part of the ongoing partnership between IUPUI and Krea University, students of SIAS participated in an information session led by the following senior faculty members at IUPUI: Mathew Palakal, Senior Executive Associate Dean and Professor of Informatics; Josette Jones, Director of Health Informatics and Associate Professor; Saptarshi Purkayastha, Director of Undergraduate Education and Research – Department of BioHealth Informatics and Assistant Professor of Data Science, Health Informatics; and Sarath Chandra Janga, Associate Professor of Bioinformatics, Data Science, Interim Chair – Department of BioHealth Informatics, and Interim Program Director of Bioinformatics and Biomedical Informatics Program. The faculty members shared salient features of the two disciplines – Health Informatics and Bioinformatics, its applications in the real world, teaching of the subject at IUPUI and the many benefits of partnering with Krea.
