Dr Jayasankar Ramanathan, Associate Professor, Marketing and Prof Chandrasekaran Nagarajan, Professor, Operations Management, IFMR GSB, Krea University have unveiled a new case study on Harvard Business Publishing  Education. The case titled, Dabba Chetty Shop: Strengthening a Niche Market or Expanding Internationally, analyses a small unique retail shop in Chennai. The case can be taught to undergraduate and postgraduate business administration students in various courses, including service management, operations management, and services marketing.

Dr Gayathri Sampath, Associate Professor, Strategy and Chairperson – MBA Programme at IFMR GSB recently penned a short story, now included as part of an anthology. Mr and Mrs Rosewood is a collection of the winning short stories written by writers across the globe for the contest organised by WriteFluence. The book consists of 16 literary pieces that were selected from several submissions that had been received from all over the world for the contest.

The students of SIAS, Concepts in Aesthetics II that is offered by Dr Srajana Kaikini to students of Global Arts, Philosophy and Literature, visited the exhibition Visible/Invisible at the Museum of Art and Photography, Bangalore. They engaged with the curator Dr Arnika Ahldag around the ideas and the works at the museum through the lens of gender, its social life, its conceptual ironies and the possibilities and impossibilities of representation in relation to the tasks of the artist/curators.

Anil Srinivasan, renowned pianist and Visiting Professor of Practice, Literature & the Arts, SIAS joined by bassist Naveen Napier, percussionist Krishna Kishor, and award-winning vocalist Sai Vignesh, conducted a blindfolded performance. The music concert was held in Hyderabad on 24 August 2023 and was organised by IC3 Institute, aimed at contributing towards counselling for children.

The Ceramic Studio on campus, which is part of the Global Arts discipline at SIAS is now home to six new state-of-the-art Shimpo wheels. Kaveri Bharath, Visiting faculty, SIAS inaugurated these on 9 August 2023 along with the student community on campus making some exquisite clayware

Dr Anannya Dasgupta, Director, Centre for Writing and Pedagogy     ( Krea-CWP) was invited by the Jindal School of Art and Architecture, Jindal Global University to conduct an online writing workshop for design and architecture students of the Form and Structure Atelier. Titled, Full-on-Feelz: Writing Evocative Descriptions, the session was held on 4 August 2023

Dr Sarabjeet D Natesan, Associate Professor of Economics at SIAS presented a paper titled, Output, Outcome and Impact Framework Approach in Documenting the Role of Street Level Bureaucrats in Covid-19 at the 6th International Conference on Public Policy (IPCCA-6), held in Toronto on 29 June.

Dr Rama Devi, Visiting Faculty at SIAS and Deepshikha Sharma, UTS scholar at the University of Twente, Netherlands and a former Teaching Fellow at SIAS co-authored a blog titled Democracy Denied: the fraught Realities of Higher Education for Dalits in India, published recently in LSE South Asia
