Dr Brijesh Kumar Jha earned his PhD in Statistics from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. His research interests are rooted in Statistical Inference, with a particular focus on point estimation, Bayesian estimation, and decision theory. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Computing at the Institute of Mathematics and Applications, Bhubaneswar, and later pursued a postgraduate degree in Statistics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.
His PhD thesis focused on the estimation of hazard rates in selected populations, comparing exponential and Pareto distributions using a decision-theoretic approach. Dr Jha conducted postdoctoral research at IIT Bhubaneswar under Dr Akash Ashirbad Panda in an INSPIRE-funded project, where he worked on estimating drift and diffusion coefficients of a Stochastic Differential Equation involving Levy Noise. Currently, Dr Jha is engaged in research on queuing theory and is eager to explore new avenues in Econometrics.
