Professor Soumya Madabhushi is a psychologist (licensed in PA, USA) with over 15 years of experience providing different modalities of psychotherapy, mental health consulting, and training. She is driven by her passion to apply psychology toward helping individuals, families, communities, and organisations heal, grow, and thrive. Toward this end, she has founded the organisation Amaani Wellness Enterprise. Her clinic offers a wide range of services that include individual therapy, group therapy, couples and family therapy, supervision and consulting. She is invested in dispelling the stigma around mental health and strives to educate, inspire, and empower people to attend to their mental health needs and live their lives with a greater sense of purpose and peace. She has created and delivered hundreds of presentations locally, nationally, and internationally. She has taught at reputed universities in India and the US.
Soumya obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pittsburg State University, then a PhD in Counselling Psychology from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also completed a two-year intensive Psychodynamic Psychotherapy programme through the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. She worked at CAPS at University of Pennsylvania for eight years as a staff psychologist and outreach training coordinator. She lived over 18 years in the US before recently moving back to India.
