Dr Arghya Mondal holds a PhD (integrated) from The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc), Chennai and a Bachelor of Mathematics from the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mathematics Department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, a Visiting Fellow at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Chennai Mathematical Institute.

Dr Arghya Mondal is interested in geometric and analytic aspects of group theory. In particular, he is interested in Lie groups over local fields, symmetric spaces, Bruhat-Tits buildings and their quotients by discrete subgroups.
