Dr Gangotryi Sorcar specialises in the interactions of topology and geometry with areas such as group theory and combinatorics. She obtained her PhD from SUNY Binghamton, focusing on negatively curved metrics on high-dimensional manifolds. Her research has since diversified to include triangulations of 4-manifolds and right-angled Coxeter groups through collaborations during various postdoctoral and visiting positions. She has held academic roles at institutions including The Ohio State University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Delaware, and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. With over a decade of teaching experience, she employs inquiry-based learning and actively promotes diversity and equal opportunity. She is committed to outreach activities addressing disparities in educational quality across socio-economic groups in India
