Uditi Lunawat
Uditi Lunwat is a Politics major at Krea University with a minor in Computer Science and a concentration in Economics with a GPA of 9.05 and CGPA of 9.01. This summer, she completed a course on International Human Rights: Theory, Law, and Practice at the London School of Economics (LSE), where she earned an A. The course offered an in-depth exploration of the complexities surrounding international human rights law, with a special focus on the European Convention on Human Rights, counterterrorism, free speech, and privacy. Her experience at LSE involved engaging with peers from top global universities, critically assessing case studies, and completing essays on the universality and practical realities of human rights. This experience deepened her passion for international law.
Her work experience spans internships in gender policy, election monitoring, and educational initiatives. She's contributed to The Prajnya Trust, Prajnya Initiatives for Peace, Justice and Security, by auditing election manifestos and leading awareness campaigns on gender issues as part of their Gender Equality Election Watch (GEEW). At Katalyst, she engaged mentors and managed student mentoring programs for women in STEM. These roles reflect her strength in teamwork, project management, and content creation.
As Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Leher, an independent student-run e-paper at Krea, she has demonstrated leadership in project management, innovation, and editorial oversight, successfully leading a team of 30 to publish two issues every month and has already edited over 200 articles and regularly authors articles of her own for their website. As School President and Vice President, she spearheaded multiple initiatives, indicating my ability to create, sustain, and see projects through successfully.
Her coursework at Krea University has further developed her academic foundation. Her Politics and International Relations courses have deepened her understanding of global governance, diplomacy, and policy-making. Her Computer Science courses, including programming in C and Python, mathematics for computer science, and the design and analysis of algorithms, have enhanced her critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential in today's digitalised world. Additionally, her Economics courses have laid a strong foundation for understanding political economies and the principles of economics that guide public policy and trade relations.
She's particularly interested in project-oriented roles focusing on human rights, cyber-security, disarmament, and international relations. While she values research, she seeks roles that involve direct engagement with global issues. She's also open to editorial and writing work on specific regions of the world covered by foreign policy think tanks. She aspires to further her knowledge of the European Court of Human Rights, sparked by the case studies she explored at LSE. Career paths in International Relations, diplomacy, governance, and policy are where she sees her future.
