Nemat Shaikh

Nemat Shaikh is pursuing a major in Politics with a minor in Social Studies, driven by her passion for promoting social justice through the inclusion of marginalised students in education. Her third-year research thesis focused on the factors contributing to high dropout and suicide rates among students in Indian higher education institutions (IITs), a subject closely aligned with her advocacy. This project significantly enhanced her skills in qualitative data collection.

Nemat's professional journey has primarily revolved around the education sector. Starting as an Alumni Ambassador at the Akanksha Foundation during junior college, she most recently served as a research guide at Kruu in her final year of college. Her roles have consistently involved meaningful engagement with young students, showcasing her ability to build strong rapport and foster connections.

She is seeking opportunities in education, policy, and journalism to further her commitment to impactful work in these fields.
