Priya Vishwanath

Overview

Priya Vishwanath is a final-year Economics and Business student at Krea University, committed to advancing social justice in India through an economic lens. She has worked at IDinsight, supporting the implementation of a social-emotional learning curriculum in government schools in partnership with Girl Rising. Previously, she interned at Myna Mahila Foundation and Central Square Foundation, contributing to research on women’s labour participation and EdTech adoption.
She also founded Southpaw Supply, a startup designing ergonomic tools for left-handed individuals, incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore. Her work focuses on applying behavioural and economic insights to promote gender equity, education, and financial inclusion.

• Supported the Investment Team on industry and company research; conducted P&L analyses, portfolio company calls, and built business analytical models using R.
• Gained first-hand exposure to thesis-driven investing and strategic evaluation within the technology and digital sectors

Myna Mahila Foundation
June 2023 – June 2024

• Authored a research paper on women’s agency, grounded in original fieldwork; co-developed a novel measurement tool to quantify the impact of social norms and labour market participation on agency, now published and publicly available
• As a Research & Design Intern, led large-scale fieldwork, redesigned surveys aligned with evolving research trends, and launched the Rani app to support real-time data collection and outreach

Founder – Southpaw Supply
NSRCEL Incubatee, IIM Bangalore

• Founded Southpaw Supply to design ergonomic tools for left-handed users, starting with scissors for children aged 9–14
• Led end-to-end product development and launched pilot testing in partnership with schools
• Initiated co-branding discussions with Classmate (ITC) and secured seed funding through competitive grants
• Currently scaling distribution across educational institutions

Bold Bhasha (Children’s Book)

• Co-authored a children’s novel (ages 10–14) that integrates financial literacy into fiction; publication in progress
• Honed skills in simplifying complex concepts through engaging storytelling and developed an audience-centric approach to content creation for young readers

• Assessed market concentration in India under the mentorship of Dr Gaurav Ghosh using R; applied Kaldor–Hicks Compensation (K-C) and Lerner’s indices to evaluate industry competitiveness
