Dr Naveen Prabhakar holds a BTech in Engineering Physics from IIT Madras, and a PhD in Physics from Stony Brook University, New York, specialising in String Theory and Mathematical Physics. After his PhD from Stony Brook University, Dr Naveen Prabhakar has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, and as a Jawaharlal Nehru Post-Doctoral visiting fellow at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, Bengaluru.
Dr Naveen Prabhakar has a broad spectrum of research interests in Mathematics and Physics. His research has involved large N physics of Chern-Simons gauge theories with vector-like matter, bound states of D-branes in string theory, chiral superspaces in two spacetime dimensions, the asymptotic growth of higher dimensional partitions and their relevance to string theory and statistical mechanics, and canonical quantum gravity. In recent years, Dr Prabhakar has also developed an interest in the interplay between ideas in data science, machine learning and Physics.
