MSc in Clinical Psychology

Includes supervised off-campus clinical field immersion

Programme overview

The MSc in Clinical Psychology is a rigorous two-year postgraduate programme designed to prepare clinically skilled, ethically grounded, and socially aware mental health professionals. Rooted in Krea’s philosophy of Interwoven Learning, the programme blends scientific knowledge, clinical practice, interdisciplinary perspectives, and community engagement.

Students gain training in psychological theory, assessment, counselling, and psychotherapy, while learning to understand mental health within broader social, cultural, and economic contexts. Delivered by experienced clinicians and practitioner-scholars, the programme emphasises reflective practice, ethical decision-making, cultural competence, and a deep understanding of South Asian realities. Graduates emerge ready to contribute meaningfully to India’s mental health ecosystem.

The MSc in Clinical Psychology addresses India’s mental health gap by integrating Education & Training, Awareness & Advocacy, and Service & Intervention. Graduates will be provided with training to clinical assessment tools as well as exposure to counselling skills in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Systems approach, Cognitive-Behavioural therapy, as well as Humanistic and Existential therapy.

What makes

Clinical Psychology at Krea unique

The MSc in Clinical Psychology offers a comprehensive and immersive training experience, blending rigorous academics, practical exposure, and research opportunities. Students engage in supervised clinical work, case presentations, simulated therapy sessions, and structured use of psychometric tools, while interdisciplinary courses in neuroscience, sociology, public health, gender studies, and social policy help them understand psychological distress and well-being within complex social contexts. Krea’s strong community partnerships provide avenues for field projects, mental health outreach, and collaborations with NGOs, schools, hospitals, and community organisations.

Close faculty mentorship ensures personalised guidance in academics, clinical practice, and research, while a robust research component prepares students for doctoral studies, MPhil Clinical Psychology, and evidence-based contributions to policy and practice. Although the MSc in Clinical Psychology is not an RCI-licensure degree, it provides a strong foundation for students aspiring to pursue advanced licensure pathways and develops the ability to conduct research relevant to mental health in South Asia, contributing to meaningful practice and policy insights.
