Dr Debasish Mishra is a Mechanical Engineer, with a specialisation in Manufacturing Engineering. He holds a doctorate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, focusing his research on the application of AI and Machine Learning in real-time monitoring and control of manufacturing processes. Subsequently, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Connecticut in the USA, where he developed data-driven digital twins for manufacturing activities. He also collaborated with TATA Consultancy Services Research and Innovation to develop a digital twin for the Friction Stir Welding process. Dr Mishra is the author of the textbook Digital Twin – Fundamental Concepts to Applications in Advanced Manufacturing. He has published several articles in international journals and conferences, and he has filed four Indian patent applications in the Industry 4.0 field.
