Dr Soumya Pal is a policy scholar with research interests in environmental and resource economics. He holds a PhD in Public Policy from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. His primary research involves understanding the macroeconomic implications of climate change, climate adaptation, and mitigation actions. Secondary research includes understanding the role of environmental regulations and local area environmental degradation using the framework of environmental justice. Before pursuing his PhD, his work focused on mathematical demography which involved constructing life tables to understand life years’ disparity and the loss of healthy life years in India. Apart from academia, Dr Soumya Pal is interested in exploring global cinema and Indian theatre.
