On this occasion, the book titled India@100: Envisioning Tomorrow’s Economic Powerhouse, authored by Professor K V Subramanian will be launched. The session will explore the key ideas presented in the book, particularly the opportunities that beckon India and the reform agenda required to make the country a $55 Trillion economy by 2047. Through meticulous research and insightful analysis, the author explores four key pillars to propel India’s growth: Macroeconomic emphasis on growth; Microeconomic focus on Social and Economic Inclusion; Vision of ethical wealth creation & Strategy of a virtuous cycle triggered by investment. The book explores once-in-several-centuries opportunity knocking on India’s doors.

About the Speaker:
Professor K V Subramanian served as the 17th Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) to the Government of India between 2018 – 2021. He was the youngest CEA when appointed. As CEA, Professor Subramanian’s foresight and vision enabled the Indian economy to emerge with high growth and strong macro fundamentals despite the Ukraine War following the Covid pandemic. Acknowledging his contributions, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi noted his “academic brilliance, unique perspectives on economic and policy matters and reformatory zeal”.
He has been conferred with the Distinguished Alumnus Award by his alma maters as an alumnus of IIT Kanpur & IIM Calcutta. A PhD from the University of Chicago, his research in banking, law & finance, innovation & economic growth and corporate governance has been published in world’s leading journals.
