Mugdha’s research interests are located in the areas of Public Health, Health Economics, and Public Finance. Prior to joining the Ph.D. program at IFMR GSB, I completed my Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai in 2021. She has worked on the Impact of the Finance Commission Recommendation on Public Health Expenditures in Maharashtra. The study was focused on the district level and analyzed the presence of inequities in the distribution of public healthcare facilities across the levels of care. She has also explored the areas of Global Poverty and Health and Nation, State, and Inclusive Governance majorly focused on the issues faced by ethnic groups across the countries.
Earlier, she was associated with Society for Education, Action, and Research in Community Health (SEARCH), Gadchiroli, as a student fellow from 2021-2022
His current area of research includes health economics, labour economics, caste and labour migration among others.

An ardent believer in the expression of thoughts and love for languages, Mugdha relishes poetry compositions and loves to engage herself in theatre. Apart from her academic life, she indulges in listening to Indian classical music & loves socializing.
