Former Dean of IFMR GSB, Professor G Balasubramanian has over three decades of experience in executive training, teaching, consulting and research in Accounting, Finance and Information Technology. He has trained more than 1000 executives across multiple organisations, spanning both the private and public sectors. Some of his most sought-after courses include Finance for Managers and Financial Modeling.
Currently serving as a Visiting Faculty in Finance and Information Technology in several African countries, under the sponsorship of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Professor G Balasubramanian has also collaborated with Indian Institute of Management, Indore, IIM Trichy, Great Lakes Institute of Management and LIBA. An approved PhD guide at Madras University, Professor G Balasubramanian is also a member of the doctoral committee at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
He has designed and implemented Decision Support Systems for major organisations, and published papers on capital markets, accounting, information technology, and knowledge management. Acting as a resource person in a study of disinvestments of public sector enterprises sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Professor G Balasubramanian has also co-authored a book titled Brain Re-engineering, published by Sage Publications.
He serves as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Emerging Market Finance, an IFMR GSB’s Journal published by Sage Publications.
Professor G Balasubramanian’s current interests are valuation modelling, activity-based costing & management, strategic cost management, performance measurement systems, financial modelling, and financial analytics.
