"Global Arts looks at the diverse artistic expressions of individuals and groups on a global scale, covering not only performing arts but crafts, visual arts, perfumery, and cultural traditions. A particularly interesting course for me was “Arts of the Deccan - The Early Modern Epoch from Vijayanagar to Marathas.” As a dancer and theatre artist, the exploration of history from a unique cultural perspective was fascinating. Unlike conventional teachings focused on wars and social structures, this course delved into the cultural significance and lifestyles of historical periods. Global Arts emerges as a profoundly enriching discipline revealing the intricate culture of human creativity. "
At Krea, we recognize the critical and creative potential of an education in the arts for every domain of human activity. In a world where the co-presence of humans, environment, and technology implies new and complex forms of interdependence, the primary objective of the Krea Global Arts programme arts is to nurture creative thinking and action in response to the opportunities and challenges of 21st century contexts in an interconnected world.
The Krea Global Arts programme develops knowledge of the arts applied in revolutionary and creative ways – in practice, inquiry, the public sphere, community engagement, science, engaged learning in a variety of domains and wherever human interactions occur. Studying Krea University's Global Arts programme as a BA (Hons) student in Literature-Arts has provided me with a unique synthesis of art theory and practice. The programme's pedagogical approach transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, fostering creative perspectives on art in today's intermedial and interconnected digital landscape. The syncretic curriculum explores diverse dimensions, including critical art theories and histories, community art cultures, art as a political inquiry, concepts in aesthetics, and new media storytelling, alongside hands-on experiences like documentary filmmaking, performing arts and ceramic arts. The dedicated faculty, donning multifaceted roles in the art world, cultivate an engaging learning environment, seamlessly blending theoretical insights with real-world skills.
