Dr Kalyan Chakrabarti is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences & Chemistry and Associate Dean (Students) at the School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences, Krea University. Dr Chakrabarti has contributed to understanding the dynamics of proteins and protein networks (see publications). He has designed, taught courses, and guided capstone theses on Biochemistry, Biophysics, Spectroscopy, and Systems Biology – in addition to hosting a science outreach podcast, The Common Babbler (https://www.youtube.com/@
Dr Chakrabarti held research positions at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (Göttingen, Germany), the National Cancer Institute (National Institute of Health, USA), and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Brandeis University, USA. He obtained his BSc Chemistry (Hons) degree from the Presidency College (now University), Kolkata. He holds Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Biophysics, specializing in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy of proteins, from the Indian Institute of Science.
