Dr Arani Basu

Dr Arani Basu is a Sociologist with research interests in media-society interface, transnational migration and religion-politics mutuality in India. As a Hanns-Siedel Fellow he received his PhD from the Institute for Asian and African Studies, Humboldt University. Dr Basu also has a diploma in Media Studies jointly from the South Asian Media School, Lahore and Goldsmiths, University of London. His doctoral thesis focussed on the role of media in India. Currently, Dr Basu is preparing his monograph titled Understanding Propaganda: A Study of Indian Media, to be published with Palgrave Macmillan in 2024. At Krea University, Dr Basu teaches undergraduate students, and conducts his research project on media and migration.
