Antony Selvakumar is a PhD scholar in Biological Sciences at Krea University. He has a strong interest in nature and wildlife, which led him to pursue research in disease ecology. His work focuses on understanding ectoparasite dynamics in reptiles, with an emphasis on host–parasite interactions and their ecological and epidemiological implications.
With a background in public health entomology and molecular biology, Antony has gained experience studying vectors and parasites and their role in disease transmission. He has been involved in both field and laboratory work on vector-borne diseases, working with organisms such as mosquitoes and mites and applying molecular approaches to study them.
He has also been actively involved in wildlife conservation through volunteering. At the Madras Crocodile Bank, he assisted in the collection and candling of Indian mugger crocodile eggs.
Driven by curiosity about the natural world, Antony aims to better understand how ecological systems shape disease spread and contribute to infectious disease research.
