Ajmal is doing his PhD in the area of Finance at IFMR Graduate School of Business. He is currently working in the area of Corporate Finance. As a part of his doctoral thesis, he explores the area of Corporate Tax Planning and its different dimensions in the context of emerging countries.

During his Master in Commerce with a specialisation in Business Finance, he undertook a study on the different aspects of a Shariah complied real estate venture capital fund. His subjects during his Master include Financial management, Portfolio management, Cost accounting, Derivatives, etc. 

His research interests include Corporate tax planning, Corporate Governance, Sustainable Finance, Islamic Finance and Artificial Intelligence.
