Dr Gayathri Sampath is a management professional with over two decades of experience, blending practitioner insights and academic rigour in all her engagements. Throughout her consulting tenure from 1994 to 2011, she managed assignments in both Indian and global contexts, spanning various sectors. Her consulting expertise lies in Marketing and Business Strategy, encompassing Go-to-Market Strategies, Opportunity Identification, Entry Strategies, and the Evaluation of Business Models and Plans.
In the final three years of her consulting career, she held a senior management position, reporting directly to the CEO/India head. Following nearly 15 years in the corporate sector and a decade of academic association as a visiting faculty member with various business schools, she made the transition to full-time research and teaching in 2016.
Having earned her PhD in 2016, she joined the Business & Strategy Department at the School of Business, NMIMS – recognised as one of the top 10 business schools in the country. Serving as the Chair of the Strategy department since 2018, she has been closely involved in curriculum development for various Strategy courses offered by SBM across different programmes.
Dr Sampath has presented her research work at conferences and published cases and papers in both domestic and international journals. Currently, her research focus is on social enterprises and digital payments.
