Professor Amit Das taught at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 1994 to 2009, contributing to the Undergraduate, MBA, PhD, and Executive Programmes, while engaging in impactful research within the information systems field. His expertise spanned both technological aspects, including databases, networks, and information security, and behavioural aspects, covering decision-making, technology evolution, and e-Government.
Over the following decade, he continued his academic journey at Qatar University, where he taught across all academic levels—Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral—and sustained his research focus in management and information systems.
Professor Das holds a BTech in Electronics Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIM Calcutta. His academic journey culminated in a PhD in Information & Decision Sciences from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
Throughout his career, Professor Das has collaborated with prominent businesses such as Apple, Asatsu-DK, Cray Research, Google, HP, IBM, Oracle, and Qatar Petroleum, as well as public sector organisations like APEC, IDA Singapore, and People’s Association Singapore. His research and consulting projects have left a lasting impact, with his work published in esteemed journals such as Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Behavioral Finance, and Information & Management.
