​Dr Swayam Sampura Panigrahi awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

​Dr Swayam Sampura Panigrahi, Assistant Professor, Operations and Area Chair – Operations, IFMR GSB, has been awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. As a Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research fellow at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, Dr Panigrahi’s research will uncover gross human rights violations. Her objective is to develop a generic framework to address these challenges through the exchange of best practices across the US and India.

​Dr Vijaya C presents a paper at the Global Banking and Finance Association (GLOBAFA) Conference

Dr Vijaya C, Assistant Professor, Finance,​ IFMR GSB presented a research paper titled ‘Dynamic Connectedness of Volatility among ESG ETFs, ESG Indices And Cap-Weighted Indices’ at the Global Banking and Finance Association (GLOBAFA) Conference, held from 30-31 May 2025 at Mathias Corvinus Collegium, Budapest, Hungary. The paper examines the dynamic connectedness between ESG ETFs and market indices in developed and emerging markets. It also determines how the nature of the market and the theme of ESG ETFs impact volatility persistence.

The inaugural annual Global Banking and Finance Association (GLOBAFA) Conference brought together experts, scholars, and practitioners from around the world to share their insights and research findings in the field of banking and finance. The conference was held in collaboration with the Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES) and was hosted by Mathias Corvinus Collegium, Budapest, Hungary.

IFMR GSB Faculty members take part in the Teaching Cases Seminar at IIMB

Dr Vijaya C, Assistant Professor, Finance, IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB) and Dr Jyoti Kumari, Assistant Professor, Finance, Accounting and Quantitative Finance, IFMR GSB attended the ‘Teaching Cases Seminar’ organised and facilitated by Harvard Business Publishing at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) on 28 and 29 April 2025.

Facilitated by Professor V.G. Narayanan, Harvard Business School, the seminar was aimed at strengthening the case study pedagogy in business schools by sharpening the case teaching skills of management faculty across various institutes and disciplines. The seminar covered myriad dimensions of teaching cases, namely importance of case study pedagogy, designing a discussion plan, conducting, steering and evaluating classroom case discussions, as well as the different ways of using GenAI for case study pedagogy.

​Dr Jyoti Kumari, Assistant Professor, Finance, Accounting and Quantitative Finance, IFMR GSB has penned an opinion article in the Deccan Herald titled, How decentralised credit enables SMEs, MSMEs.

The article discusses how decentralisation of credit and smart lending not only transforms the MSME sector but also contributes significantly to India’s economic growth.

A research paper co-authored by Dr Debankur Saha, Assistant Professor & Area Chair – Marketing, IFMR GSB, titled Influence of Avitourism Experience in Developing Environmentally Responsible Behaviour has been published in Tourism Recreation Research (ABDC – A / Scopus – Q1).

The paper has been co-authored with Professor Anirban Chakraborty (IIM Lucknow).
This study explores the connection between birdwatching (avitourism) experiences and individuals’ commitment to environmental responsibility. It examines how various dimensions of avitourism experiences contribute to visitor well-being and promote environmentally responsible behaviour (ERB).
