Admission Criteria

Graduates of full-time undergraduate degree programmes and candidates in the final year of the programme are eligible. Students from ODL (Open and Distance Learning) institutions are also eligible to apply as per the UGC policy and notification.

No. Work experience is not mandatory to apply. Please note that only those with full-time work experience upto 36 months will receive credit during evaluation of application.

Applicants are required to take any of the following competitive exams – CAT 2023 (and) (or) 2024 / XAT 2024 (and) (or) 2025 / CMAT 2025 /NMAT 2025 / GMAT (2023-25) / GRE (2023-25),GATE 2025 (Engineering subjects), IIT-JAM 2025 (Maths and statistics)

Applicants who have secured positions within the top 20 ranks among universities and institutes acknowledged by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework), as detailed in both the comprehensive rankings (https://www.nirfindia.org/Rankings/2024/Ranking.html) and university rankings (https://www.nirfindia.org/Rankings/2024/UniversityRanking.html), will not be obliged to submit competitive exam scores.

IFMR GSB will admit up to 240 students for the batch of MBA 2025-27. However, the School is under no compulsion to fill all 240 seats. Offers will be made to deserving high-quality applicants.

IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB) now offers the two-year MBA degree under the auspices of Krea University. Earlier, it offered a successful PGDM program as a standalone B-School, starting in 2000. Krea University was established in 2017, as a state private university recognised by the University Grants Commission and the government of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Krea University, sponsored by IFMR Society, aims to help humanity prepare for a predictable world by developing a view of the future through rigorous inter-disciplinary research and management education.

IFMR Graduate School of Business, Sri City, India has been accredited by SAQS (South Asian Quality Assurance System) for a period of five years from 14 December 2017. SAQS is an international system of strategic audit and accreditation designed for the assessment of institution in widely different national contexts. It is a globally benchmarked system for Mentoring, Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

The SAQS accreditation is awarded by The Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), an international not-for-profit association, and is a “SAARC Recognized Body”. We are working with AMDISA for SAQS re-accreditation.  It is an on-going process.

Krea University comprises two schools, namely IFMR Graduate School of Business (IFMR GSB) and School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences (SIAS). IFMR GSB offers MBA, PhD, EMBA, BBA/Integrated MBA and customised programmes for executives. SIAS currently offers BA (Hons) and B.Sc (Hons) degrees in disciplines across Arts, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences.

Infrastructure and Facilities

The world-class campus on 40 acres of land has air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-fi coverage, ATM, along with a health centre. The other facilities include, air-conditioned hostel rooms, laundromat, convenience store, fitness studio, student lounge, student hub with indoor games, snack vending machine, unisex salon, basketball court, futsal grass turf and cricket nets.

IFMR GSB Sri City campus is an academic Centre of Excellence in the midst of global organisations setting up world-class manufacturing plants in Sri City to cater to the Indian and export markets. These include Alstom, Kobelco, Danieli, Colgate, Cadbury, PepsiCo, Kellogg’s Isuzu Motors, and a large number of Japanese, American and European corporations.

A 1650 sq ft fitness studio for boys and girls and indoor games [such as table tennis] are available. Facilities are provided for yoga, playing cricket, football, volleyball and more, to help students unwind and relax after assignments and lectures. An open-air auditorium and other recreational facilities have also been set up.

A beautiful water body, a walkway and enough greenery makes the campus aesthetically and physically soothing. The entire campus is Wifi enabled. Complete security and safety are built-in as basic requirements. There are plans being implemented to make the campus not only a higher education institution, but also a vibrant ecosystem.

IFMR has state-of-the-art facilities for students and faculty in a Wifi enabled campus with high bandwidth connectivity. A world-class campus spread over 40 acres of land, offers the students an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a Multimedia enabled air conditioned classrooms equipped with labs for simulated and real trading on NSE, with live feeds. In addition to this, the HT Parekh Library in the campus facilitates electronic journal access, apart from books and multimedia and is proudly recognised as a World Bank repository.

Other facilities include ATM, launderettes, hostel rooms on twin-sharing basis with attached bath & geyser, dedicated TV rooms, mess, QSR and Indian fast food outlet, and a store for stationery items, soft drinks, packed snacks and personal care products.

Student life on campus

Abhyudaya is the flagship event of IFMR GSB which is hosted every year in the month of February, at Sri City campus. Abhyudaya is a management and cultural conclave that features a potpourri of events and competitions that incorporate elements of various fields of management.

By Driving

  • From Chennai International Airport: – The Institute is at a driving distance of 85 km – about 1 hour 45 mins from Chennai International Airport.
  • From Tirupathi International Airport: – The Institute is at a driving distance of 75 km – about 1 hour 30 mins from Tirupathi International Airport.
  • From Chennai Central Railway Station: – The Institute is at a driving distance of 70 km – about 1 hour 30 mins from Chennai Central Railway Station.
  • From Sullurpeta Railway Station: – The Institute is at a driving distance of 22 km – about 20 mins from Sullurpeta Railway Station.
  • From Tada Railway Station – The Institute is at a driving distance of 9 km – about 10 mins from Tada Railway Station.

By Bus

 

  • From Madhavaram Mofussil Bus Terminus (MMBT -Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus): – The Institute is at a distance of 56 Kms. We have plenty of buses to Tada from Madhavaram Bus Station. Buses going to Kalahasthi, Naidupet, Nellore have a stopover at Tada.

By Train

  • Tada: – From Chennai Central the closest Railway Station to Sri City is Tada. There are local trains running from Chennai Central to Tada Railway Station. Travel time by Chennai Local Train to Tada is 2 hours.
