D Sundaram

D Sundaram’s experience spans corporate finance, business performance, monitoring operations, governance, mergers & acquisitions, talent/people management and strategy. Since joining Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) as a management trainee in June 1975, he has served the company in various capacities. At Unilever, London, he was a Commercial Officer for Africa and the Middle East (1990–1993), and he was later appointed a Sr Vice President for South Asia and Middle East (1996–1999). He was the Chief Finance Officer of HUL (1999–2008) and as the Vice Chairman and CFO from (2008–2009).

D Sundaram is a two-time winner of the prestigious ‘CFO of the Year for FMCG Sector’ award by CNBC TV18 (2006 and 2008). He was awarded the ‘Best Independent Director in 2019’ by the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance and Sustainability in December 2020. He is currently the Vice Chairman of TVS Capital Funds, managing a growth capital Private Equity Fund (TVS Shriram Growth Fund).

D Sundaram is a postgraduate in Management Studies (MMS), a Fellow of the Institute of Cost Accountants, and has completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program (AMP). He currently serves as an independent Director on the Boards of Infosys, SBI General Insurance Company Limited, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited and Schneider Electric India Private Limited.
