Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, as the Founder and Managing Director of Sri City, has spearheaded its development into a leading economic hub in India. Sri City serves as a dynamic example of how well-planned satellite cities can reduce congestion in megacities by encouraging industrial growth, attracting investments, creating jobs, and fostering a high-quality, sustainable lifestyle. Housing over 220 companies from 30 countries, Sri City combines advanced manufacturing with sustainable urban growth, providing employment for over 65,000 people and supporting a vibrant community with modern amenities.

Dr Sannareddy’s academic journey underscores his commitment to engineering and environmental conservation. He graduated in Civil Engineering from NIT Trichy, then pursued master’s degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University and Johns Hopkins University. In 2022, his substantial contributions to regional development were recognised with an Honorary Doctorate from Vikrama Simhapuri University, presented by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Under his leadership, Sri City has become a model for eco-friendly industrial development, earning an IGBC Gold Rating for its environmental initiatives. Efforts are underway to make Sri City a carbon-neutral manufacturing hub, demonstrating that industrial growth and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Dr Sannareddy’s expertise is highly regarded, and he holds various influential positions, including Member of the National SEZ Policy Committee and Founding Chairman of the ASSOCHAM Southern Regional Council. He was on the Executive Council of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Anantapur, and is currently serving as a member of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Sri City.

His impact on India’s economic landscape has earned him numerous accolades. Named an ‘Inspirational Leader 2018’ by WRC International, he also received the Pravasi Excellence Award from the NRI Institute in New Delhi. Recently, he was honoured with “The Most Promising Business Leaders of Asia” award at The Economic Times Asian Business Leaders Conclave 2022–2023. These awards recognise his successful fusion of business growth with social responsibility, setting a benchmark for sustainable industrial development in India.
